Ikan Jantan = ikan yang memiliki kelenjar reproduksi testis dan saluran - salurannya yang menghasilkan spermatozoza yang berfungsi.

Ikan Betina = ikan yang memiliki kelenjar ovari dan saluran - salurannya yang menghasilkan telur/ ovum yang berfungsi.

Gonad = kelenjar reproduksi pada ikan.
testis   = kelenjar kelamin jantan yang menghasilkan spermatozoa.
Ovari  = kelenjar kelamin betina yang menghasilkan telur/ ovum.
